from what I "think" (meaning dont just trust my opinion), you're setup is pretty old and i doubt any parts that you have would be upgradeable due to newer CPUs having updated socket types.... plus 256k ram? yikes

id suggest building a whole new rig, we can help

Your's is most indefinitely an Slot 1 processor. You memory is PC100/PC133. You probably have an AGP and PCI expansion slots. The processor you'd have to make sure. Open the side. If you see an fan on top of something, it's an different type of CPU. If you see an long black thing by the memory with the northbridge heatsink in front, it's an Slot CPU.

Go into the BIOS, see if you can see what FSB the CPU is running at. If not, get CPU-Z. You computer in my opinion, is old enough to be considered by other people crappy. I would also suggest upgrading, maybe around $150 should give you an system that could last around 5 years until It's as old as your system is now.

128 to 256 should seem like an nice jump to you. 1GB is around the standard now. I could not find such an motherboard, either they have deleted it, or your giving me the chipset number. Look for an number on the MOTHERBOARD. Not the black chip-like thing. Otherwise, download PC Wizard or CPU-Z. Run it, and tell us the motherboard model.

You GFX... well if you could get an MX420 or MX440 it would be good enough. Enough to play Halo on medium settings....

1. Help them, not say "upgrade".
2. It's 256MB.

Here is the manual for your motherboard, give it a read.

Your system uses a socket 370, you will most likely find that the only way you will find a cpu for your mother board will be at places like ebay or graigslist.

Here is a page that lists what CPU's were used with the 370
http://www.globalamericaninc.com/support/socket370_cpu_table.php

According to that manual, your system uses a 4x agp slot, which is very slow by todays standards. The fastest a AGP slot got to was 8X.

If you can, I think you should build a new system.
