Can I Upgrade My Prebuilt Dell Inspirion 3656's Processor?

Processor: AMD A10-8700P (1.8GHz, overclocked to 3.2GHz)
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon R9 360
The motherboard is a prebuilt Dell one, part of the PC. I was wondering if I would be able to successfully upgrade my processor to an AMD FX-4300 (3.8 GHz). And, if I did, would it be worth it?

A10 is as high as that platform goes. You have a low voltage A10 so that kind of sucks but you're not going to do much better. You're pretty much stuck. FX CPUs use AM3+ while your machine is FM2+ so that's impossible.

If you are after a speed boost on a budget you would be well served with an SSD more than a faster processor Considering your current system and budget. Take a look at a 250 GB SSD. Make sure your machine has a spare SATA port
