i was screwing around with the jumpers to get the FSB to tr normal, becuase it set at the lowest when you buy the mobo. and i did the wrong one so when i started it had tthe CPU running at 3.60Ghz, and i even have a OCing option to go higher.....but anyways after 5 minites timed it was 104F for the temp. it was at the bios for the whole 5 minites...
I have a very nice heeatsink and fan.
do i ran alot of risk of destroying it this way?

im glad i did this because it was running at 2.0 before and then i found out thats what that jumper was for. the bus speed one was hiden. right now i put it back at 2.8(normal) untill i get a few responces.
 
104°F in bios isnt really a good sign. so when you go into windows the temp will rise dramatically and will do the cpu some damage
 
When I'm in the BIOS my CPU is around 44C (which is what it goes to under full load) in windows it drops to 27-29C when Idling.
 
When I'm browsing the web my CPU is at 98.6 Fahrenheit, and that is 37 Celcius.

104 Fahrenheit is only 40 Celcius...

What I recommend doing, is logging onto windows, and checking the temperature then. You do really want it to go more that 140 Fahrenheit... Check if it runs things stable...
 
Hello im new and I must say that my laptop (I dont know if this can help or now) gets so hot it burns my lap badly after on for only a few minutes!
 
my windows idles at about 39 C, and under load it can 50+. Which is ok.

What is impressive if that one jumper movement took you from 2.8 to 3.6 without increase vcore at all. If your vcore is stock, then your temps shouldn't be going that high

I know that, I was saying my BIOS doesn't allow the CPU to idle and so the temperature it reads is the max temp not idle.

To check the temperature in windows get a program like motherboard monitor
 
where can i find "motherboard monitor" i shearched for it...

EDIT, nvm, basicly i cant spell "motherboard" lol.
