i have a laptop and iam wanting to purchase a desktop could i simply buy the tower and plug it into my laptop and use it through the screen on my laptop???
if so how would i do this and is there any software you can reccomed?

ive looked at maxivista and it says u cant as u would not be able to see the boot process or the login screen, however if i borrowed a monitor to install the software and set it up so when the pc was turned on it went stright to the desktop with no login and run the programm on start up would it work then display the screen on my laptop screen?

if anyone can help me with this i would really apreciate it
thanks alot michael.

you could not use it directly as a monitor, although it would be possible to use it over remote desktop, but that would be pretty pointless if you were wanting to use it for gaming or something, as the frame rate would be really really slow

The problem is not the lack of software, it is the lack of ports. Most laptops do not have a video in port. If you have a TV tuner, you should be able to hook something with that. But I don't exactly know what, for lack of information on both the desktop and laptop.

@Bootup05
Do we really need pointless posts like this?

mickey0710: Posting 2 threads about the same topic (even if they're in different sections) is a GREAT way to get yourself banned. Just thought you should know (you posted one in Desktop and Laptop forums).
