Can I use a laptop hardrive in a pc?

i have 2 lap top hard drives one is 60Gb and the other 80Gb is there an adapter i can buy that will allow them to be used in a desktop pc? :confused:
 
i believe its possible, but i have no clue how. my brothers laptop's hard drive uses the same (apparently) ribbon cord that my desktop does, so i think that it will work
