Can I use old drives

I'm going to build my mom a new work computer, but her old compter still has good Floppy and CD drives, can I use these.
The old computer is an old HP and is lagging seveirly
The MOBO I'll be using is this:

Yes, you can, floppy and CD drives are pretty much universal.

You may find the data transfer rates a bit lacking on older drives. If problems, new drives are so cheap.

Are you joking? The 3 1/2" floppy drive has been the same for over ten years since replacing the "old" 5 1/4" misery! The cd drives that might present a problem are the 2x and 4x upto 12x speed drvies there with the lower ATA rating. Other then that a newer 52x speed read 24x cd writer can easily be found at Walmast even. TDK and Sony drives are common there. Online vendors will still see a lower price however.
