Can I use Samsung 2493HM monitor connect to HDMI DVD Player?

I am considering buying this monitor. However, I would like to know if I can connect to a DVD player via HDMI cable and watch movie ( no computer involve). Thank you for your help.

This monitor does have HDMI, so as long your dvd player has HDMI it should work.

Even if it didn't have HDMI, couldn't you get a HDMI to DVI converter? Just that and some other audio output...I'd think that'd work
