I have the dv6000 that has the wireless problem and doens't work, i have to send it back plain and simple... However im a graphics designer who needs photoshop and when conficker hit my virus it took my version of photoshop with it... now i need to use my laptop till i get a new photoshop because the trial is about to run out.

I am using the ethernet in the basement. However I cannot be connected down here all the time. Is it possible to use my desktop which is upstairs and uses wifi to transmit a cable to my laptop? Since the ethernet and broadband cables are in the basement?

Is that possible to pick up the wireless connection on my desktop since i can't on my laptop and like teather it to my laptop?

let me know asap or im going to have to send it back today :S

thanks guys.

I have a similar setup but i use my Xbox 360.

You can bridge the connections between them.
My desktop is wireless and i run my wired Xbox 360 off of it to play xbox live. I believe it would be the same setup.

Try this:

Connect a ethernet cable from the laptop to the back of the desktop.
Then if you are running windows xp, go to Control Panel-Network Connections. Then highlight both the local area connection(LAN) and your wireless Network icons and select bridge(or go to Advandced toolbar and select bridge connections) this should solve your problem.

If this does not work try using the internet sharing wizard on your computer. It may sound complicated but once you try it, it is very simple.

I hope this helps with your problem:cool:

it worked really good except when me and my dad setup our network something went wrong so our connection was kinda poor but I think that was my fault I was a noob to networking then
