That is true, it may start up, but will want to install all the drivers for the new parts that it see. So if you've got the driver's CD to the 2nd unit, it may be ok, but yes, a fresh install would be best. But then again, if you didnt get a chance to backup all the things you had before the mess up, I'd install all the drivers, backup, and then do a clean install.Jerkstore said:the problem is that windows will never boot properly since the drivers are looking for parts that don't exist..
ie. take it out of an HP Pavillion and put it in an IBM and windows will look for the HP parts because of the drivers....it will work, just have to give 'er a clean install
