regarding the CPU speed: Why are there two speeds displayed?

regarding the OS: Why is it only one bar above the passing line? It is XP SP2.

I'm not as knowledgeable as you guys when it comes to hardware.

I have seen that with the OS before, its fine, its just the way its done, probably because you dont have XP Professional or something.

What is the actual speed of your processor?
 
You have an Athlon 64 3200+, it's speed is 2.0GHz and that requirements tab says the PR (3200+) is the rated speed, which it is not.
 
Yes, do not trust the "performance rated" speed, just the actual speed.

And as for them OS, it's because you are running XP Home, and not XP Pro or Vista.
 
Well, the idea that the series number, such as '3200+', represents the equivalent clock clock speed is a long standing myth. I believed it for a while, as I has read it in the leading A+ Certification prep book, which goes to show how wide spread the myth is. When I brought it up in a discussion here one time, someone linked me to AMD's website where they specifically said that that wasn't the case.

Running XP Home and XP Pro won't affect any performance in-game. I know it shouldn't, right?:confused:

Thanks guys, now I know that the 3.2 ghz is just a lie. :)

Hmmmm... If I upgrade to the X2 5200+, would it say "Performance Rated at 5.2ghz" Lol! :P
 
The whole idea behind the PR rating was to show what a original (non) XP Athlon would have to be running at to perform the same as a XP Athlon. It just happen to equal out pretty good against the P4 so AMD just went with it. But it didnt work out all the time, like the XP Athlon 3200+ did not do as well as the P4 3.2. Then AMD would just use the excuse that thats not what the PR ratings was for and say thats what a original (non)XP Athlon would have to be running at to match the XP Athlon.

XP Home runs games just as well as XP Pro.

And to prove how idiotic the "PR" rating is, look what it says for my system:

for the operating system it says vista professional ?? that's not even a version of vista is it?
