can someone give guide on raid 1 please

I want to build a raid 1 which i know take 2 same hard drive

say if i have 2x 1tb hard drive and later on the line it get full

and i buy 2x 2tb hard drive to replace them

can i take one 1tb hard drive out and put a 2tb hard drive in and select rebuild

would that work or would i have to build a 2x 2tb from the start

If your disk get full, and if you go buy 2 2tb drive then you can setup raid 0 + raid 1 so you can take the advantage of the 4 drives.
