Hi. I'm an inventor and I'm working on designing a rather expensive and complex idea I had. I want to make a special type of computer. An extremely complex and spendy and hard to make one, but first before i get ahead of myself, could someone please tell me how a computer works and how to build one? I know a lot about how computers are hooked up and how they work, but I don't know why they work. and I don't know anything about making a custom circiut board. I'm gonna be needing a lot of custom chips and stuff, and cooling systems is gonna be a slight problem with this type of machine, but I first need to know why computers work the way they do. could anyone help me out there and mabye tell me kind of how to build one? I really need to know and I really should know this stuff but I don't. Any amount of help would be apreciated.

So your wanting to build "An extremely complex" computer and your an Inventer,But you want us to tell you how computers work?

Come on dude,I dont mean to sound rude but I suggest you start reading about computers and what each component is for and does....
 
Well the motherboard is the brain and power supply..well supplies the power. Hard drive stores information and all information has to go through the ram. The design of the case is important for cooling purposes. Anything beyond that try doing a google search on How does a <insert component> work would be my suggestion.
 
i dont get it. so your invention is a complex computer, custom built? and you have no knowledge of how a computer works, so how do you expect to built it.
to be honest this just sounds stupid, just give up the idea before you waiste money.
 
Seems like you want to run before you have learned to walk. To know the possibilities of an idea (invention) you have to know the basics, I suggest you are way out of your depth and these technical problems are only solved by using other peoples knowledge, of which you will have to pay for.

In short, how do you think a Computer Forum will answer all that you require.

i really think you should stop calling yourself an inventor. i doubt you have ever invented anything.
if you want to design a computer than go to college or uni and study it their, dont expect us to pop up and explain every detail, while you cash in all the money.
this thread made me laugh.

A. Not getting his or her point across well because English is not his or her native language.
