Can someone help me please?

Ok, so i built a new computer off newegg and when i finally got all the parts and assembled it, the computer wouldn't turn on. Upon closer inspection, a low hissing sound was coming from somewhere when i hit the power switch in the back. I thought it was a dead powersupply so i sent it back. I just got my new one last night and i installed it and what do you know, its doing the same thing. What do you think it is? My next guess would be the motherboard, i just want some other opinions before i spend the money to ship out the mobo. Thanks.

double check all your power connection, i will list some for you,

4 or 8 pin CPE power con.
20+4 pin power con.
6 pin video con.

well those are the main ones that will make it not post up on screen, good luck with the build an write back if that helped or not, i remember my first build i forgot the 4 pin cpu con. and that was $45 bucks down the drain to have somone tell me i forgot it, hopefully the same dont happen to you

I probably shoulda warned you that this is my first computer i built by myself so its probably something stupid that im not seeing. I checked all the power connectors and i definitely have all of them in there. And i guess it kinda sounds like there's air leaking out of somewhere. The fan doesn't turn on either.

be sure to double check your connections on your mobo. I.E. Power button wires/restart button/usb's/ if ya cant figure it out after that, i suggest unplugging everything and trying again. i had this problem on my first build (and a few after lol). GL

I guess it wont hurt to unplug everything and try again, although i figured out that the a noise is coming from the power supply a another from the 24 pin power connector on the mobo itself.

oh and nice icon Charm.

Yea I would say check all of your connections again just to be sure. This seems dumb but did you flip the switch on the back of the PSU to "on?" I'm not making fun of you, it happened to me on my first build lol.
