Can someone walk me through installing a new HD?

link still doestn work, but how are you connecting it, internally via IDE cable?

If so, there should be an extra ide connection on the ribbon that is plugged into your current h/d. plug this extra connection into your second h/d and make sure the jumper on that back of hard drive 2 is set to slave. Also connect a power line, from your psu.

Hmmm.... try this one. It is a Seagate 120 gig hd with 8mb cache and it's SATA 150.

Also, do you think that this drive will come with the nesessary SATA cable?

Well, the drives usualy dont come with cables, so probably not. If you purchased your m/b and it supports SATA, it should have come with some cables. I have not hooked up SATA before, but would imagine is the same as anything else, just plug one end of the SATA cable into your m/b and ohter into the h/d. Than just plug in the power adapter from you psu.

If you installed it correctly, one drive as master and other as slave, it should show up in my computer under a drive letter, d:, f:, something like that. Otherwise check for it in device manager and see if it shows up.

I am also interested in this thread.

So, that should be it?

Will I need to get any software to do this or will my PC recognise it straight away when plugged in?
