Yes. Even more so if you overclock it.dtiao7eb said:Can the i5 2500k processor handle games like BF3 on ultra settings? Assuming i'm using a 7970or 590gtx card?
So you have your 2500K now right? I've got the 2500K with an Arctic Cooling Freezer 13 and I have overclocked the 2500K to 4.5GHz. On idle it underclocks itself to around 1.6GHz and sits at around 30C with a voltage of 1.35V, and when encoding video it overclocks to around 4.3GHz and at 80% load is at 45-50C. Temperature never really goes beyond 50C, certainly not beyond 55C. Yes, definitely get aftermarket cooling. At the stock 3.3GHz with the Freezer 13 the temps were around 25C.dtiao7eb said:I am currently getting a huge range on my temps. from idle @ 33C to prime 95 70+C. I need to upgrade from the weak stock cooler.
I was upgrading my work computer which was an old athlon dual core.
