My friend's HD died and he will be buying a new one. His HP computer has the windows original key sticker on the outside of the tower.
Can he use my retail Windows XP CD and enter his serial number to activate it? The CD is the Home retail version and his HP originally had Home OEM version. I didn't know if it wouldn't work at all, or if it would simply install it as an OEM (which would be fine).
