Will this answer your question? I don't do gaming, so I can't really say if it is enough.

The game is depend on this video card. all the rest should be good.
cheers.

His GPU is fine, thats the not the problem. Its that ArmA 2 is very demanding. Like I said, I have a GTX 680 4GB FTW and if it struggles with ArmA 2 with my i7 then he will definitely not be able to max out the game if he can run it smoothly on somewhat medium settings.

Crank up your clock speed and that should sort it.

@OP this game is CPU intensive, but that GPU will not do well.

What I was trying to say, is that his GPU will not bottleneck him it will most likely be the CPU. Is the 650M not the best mobile GPU on the market? Im not very hip on the laptop scene but for a laptop GPU it looks rather good. Or is that the midrange? I wasnt sure if they had like a 680M or something.

I actually dont know why anyone buys a laptop for even remote gaming. Gaming should be left to the desktop rigs. Too much worrying about battery and heat and lack of space for a laptop.

ARMA 2 is requirements are more like Crysis's which is a CPU intensive game, the 650m GPU is fine, as it is high midrange GPU, which can me compared to the 550m, or even the 555m. The CPU is the main problem as I can see you chose the basic CPU that comes with the rig (which is an I5). To run ARMA 2 on medium-high settings I recommend an i7. But the GPU should compensate for some of the CPU's loss. You can run Minecraft no problem, but ARMA 2 on low settings you will probably get an fps of around 30-35, on medium it's playable but not great (25-28 fps range, maybe 30).

Hope I helped :)
