Hey guys, I was just wondering if this motherboard can hold a HD5670 1GB
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-880GA-UD3H

One more Question, will a 580W Power supply work with this:

CPU: AMD Phenom II. X4 965 Quad Core 8meg CACHE 3.4Ghz AM3
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-880GA-UD3H
GPU: ATI HD5670 1GB

Thanks.

have you already bought the parts?

If not, get a 955 rather than 965, they are the same processor, but the 955 is cheaper. Only difference is the multiplier is 1 less on the 955, and can be set up with no problems caused to make the 955 the same as the 965.

Also, what 580W power supply is it?

um I havn't bought the parts yet so thanks for that tip.
I don't know what the psu brand or anything is it comes with a case just says its 580watt

I am thinking about getting a THERMALTAKE 700W LITEPOWER Dual 12V Rails Model: W0356RA

The Litepowers are okay, i have one myself but they are by no means the best. Look at something from corsair, silverstone, xfx and so on. Ones to avoid include chieftec, rosewill and diablotek.

700W is massive overkill, and besides, any thermaltake power supplies, with the exception of the toughpower units, are crap.

Any of the following would be a better unit:

One of the PCIe lanes is only x4, they aren't both x16 or x8/x8, so you will lose a lot of performance.

or

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131633

would be much, much better choices, even though they are more expensive, so you can utilise the full speed, otherwise there is no point in crossifireing, you won't get that much performance gain for the price that you pay.

and the power supply, for crossfiring, no, it isn't ok.

any of those would be much better. In order of preference for those 3 units (first to last choice):

Seasonic>XFX>Corsair

no, it has only 1 PCIe lane.

Looking on that site, you are looking at a much more expensive board to be able to crossfire.

damn they are more expensive :( i'll get one if I can afford.. lol if not ill just stick with that motherboard and just have 1 5770 or something. I want a Crossfire one for later on.

oh. on this one http://gamedude.com.au/prod_show.php?art_no=mbMS890gxm_g65 how it says DirextX DX10.1 does that mean my video card can only run on DX10.1 or is that totally different

I would instead, if you can afford the extra $20 or so, get:

http://gamedude.com.au/prod_show.php?art_no=viASengtx_460_top_1024

it will massively outperform a 5770, and if you were to overclock it, wouldn't be too far behind 2 5770's crossfired

For what the DX10.1 means, that motherboard has integrated graphics. It doesn't mean that you have to use it, but it is there. It will be a 4000 series GPU that is onboard, so it supports DX10.1 . If you were to get an ATi 5000 or 6000 series card, or an nVidia 400 series card, you would be able to use DX11
