the system is as follows:

Packard Bell iMedia W8253652DRW
Intel pentium 4 2.53 GHz with 512Kb L2 cache
256Mb ram of DDR
60 GB Hard disk (1.5 GB for recovery programme)
Geforce4 MX 440 64MB (NV17)

there are current one slot with 256Ram and one empty slot, can we add one GB ram into it?

Many thanks

thanks The Other One and Schoning 16 for the prompt reply... right ram? any specific model or type like DDR or..? sorry for the spoon feed...cos i am really confused.
thanks again.

it shown Physical Memory : 256 MB DDR-SDRAM , Mainboard :Intel D845GRG and Chipset :Intel i845G, is that all you need to know? by the way, if one add in one GB, must i take out the 256MB ram?
Regards

Ok, that's a start. I know what motherboard you have, also, you're board allows for up to 2GB RAM.

Just follow that pic, and tell me the brand and speed.

No you've given enough in post 6 :)

Your board takes DDR PC1600 and DDR PC2100. You should be ok to put PC2700 or PC3200 in but it will clock down to whatever speed the RAM you currently have installed is. You can add the RAM in the second slot beside the 256MB stick already in there.
I would try to find some PC2100 to add. I don't know if it comes in 1GB nonECC and you don't want to mix them.

Hi Salman, Liverpool FC is just one of my favourite football clubs and I am not residing in UK. I am an Asian.
Thanks anyway.
