Can what you write on Facebook groups be found by Facebook friends?

I'm on some Facebook groups- decorators forums, window cleaners forum etc. Can someone who is just my Facebook friends see what I've written? Mostly it's boring, but occasionally I write personal stuff e.g. about access to my son and I don't want my ex to read it . (She's a friend on Facebook.) I checked the security setting and it's private. Is this enough?

As long as the group you post in is private and not open no friends can see your posts unless they are also members.
