Can you direct me to a site/thread that gives a good CPU comparison?

Hi, just was looking for a place where I can see a lot of CPUs compared side by side. Maybe motherboards to, but really CPUs is what I really need.

Anyone know where I can see that, would make my research a lot more efficient.

in my opinion all you have to know is that i7 > i5, i3, quad and dual core and any others.
i5 roughly equals to quad, unless it has triple channel which is faster.

There is also AMD this might help http://www.theinquirer.net/inquirer/review/1560385/intel-core-i7-870-vs-amd-phenom-ii-965be although it is more high end. tell us what you want to compare, but i would recommend if have the money either go for i7 or the high end of AMD. (sorry do not know much about AMD not a fan)

I use www.tomshardware.com for all my GPU, CPU, etc comparisons.

Then you can choose what is used for benchmarking, I usually pick 3dmark 06 or vantage, but if you want to compare for like photoshopping, etc, use one of those benchmarks.
