Can you download windows discs?

I'm kind of in the same boat, i need a windows xp home edition, i got my key and everything on the back of my comp. i believe, so that should work... wait no actually it's on the side. But does it matter if i use a regular copy of xp even though i have a dell? idk someone told me they were different. Dell's copy you get and the real disc.

if one of you guys have an hp there is another way. if you download system information (google) you can get your XP key and i think you can also get it bby right clicking on my computer and pressing propertires
