can you explain IRQ?

in the computer bios program i see this and read about it but i cant understand it

they say interrupt request for proceses but dont know what it use

all tfhe arabic sites dont give you the right information plz sirs explain to me this in detail to not search again??????????
 
I suppose the best way to explain it is that it's basically channels that allow hardware access to the bus. The signal is essentially slipped into the bus, "interrupting" the current flow. The Depending on the number depends on it's priority (though that doesn't matter much anymore), hence why some older computers lost time on their clocks (Real-time clock = IRQ 8)

For the most part, you really don't need to bother with this anymore. Conflicts really aren't a problem anymore and most boards can manage IRQs themselves.
