no no no 40GB ram i saw it with my own eyes seriously
I really doubt that. 40 Gb of RAM is possible, but its used mostly for servers. Theres no such thing as "too much RAM", but it would be a bottleneck for that system (well, depends what hes doing with it). I'm almost sure we're talking about HDD space though, I would ask him again.

On a side note, a 2.66 Ghz CPU can be plenty powerfull, checkout AMDs athlon 64 lineup.

i saw all the specs on his computer it was ram because his HDD was 120GB he said that he brought 39GB for over $9000, wow.

You must have counted at least 10 RAM slots then. That must be one heck of a motherboard. I have to ask what OS he is using that would properly allocate that much RAM. I too am thinking that maybe you are talking 40GB of storage via harddrive OR it is 4GB RAM and that extra 0 slipped in.

he does not have them. Unless he is running something like a 8 way server rig. Not possible,
what app were you using to read the ram with, dont tell me taskmon or windows system propeties!
