Can you have more than 1 anti-virus program?

A few weeks ago my computer got a nasty virus and I did my first clean install of XP. To my surprise it went very smooth. I have 2 browsers-IE7and Firefox. I have the AVG free anti-spyware and Malwarebyte programs. Can I download more anti-virus and malware programs? Would that make my system any safer? Also does it make any difference if I download the programs from either browser?
I'm pretty sure my computer got a virus from a "click jacking" window that popped up. Since I did my reinstall this "click jacking" window has popped up at least 5 times. Very frustrating cause no matter what you do it starts to download anyway. This is why I downloaded Malwarebytes. This click jacking pop up says it's from Windows Security but it's not.
Talked to the computer repair guy and he says it's a big problem. Anyway is more better? I read where having your computer not accept 3rd party cookies will help so I went and done that.

You can't have more than one active antivirus program, causes issues. But you can have as many malware programs installed as you want. But my favorites are Malwarebytes and Superantispyware. You are infected, you need to post a current Malwarebytes log and a hijackthis log back here for us to look at and tell you what to do.

I had NOD 32 and AVG free running at the same time. Currently I have NOD 32 and Malwarebyte's running I think it it's a great combo!

You really shouldn't run two different anti-virus programs at once, they'll conflict with each other, and you'll most likely get some problems. But like johnb35 said, its okay to have as many spyware removal programs as you like.
