Can you help me find a laptop? Pretty please?

Okay, I’m no computer expert, but what notebook computer is perfect for me since I’m going to be a college student?

- I need something that can survive being a primary computer with moderately heavy use. (I’m on the comp a bit more than most who would just go on Facebook and call it a day, but I’m no gamer.)
- I dabble in graphic design for fun, so it needs to be able to handle and process that.
- Sometimes I do a bit of movie editing, but never anything super professional so I don’t need the SUPPPPERRR specs, just something to keep up.
- Decent RAM since I use some RAM eating programs like Photoshop and Firefox, simultaneously.
- Other than than, it's mostly Internet, and Microsoft Office (especially since I'm majoring in International Business)
- I prefer Windows, but I’m not completely opposed to Mac. So if you’re going to suggest Mac please provide more reason than “ease to use”, because I honestly don’t find those reasons enough for me to go to Mac, and leave my comfort zone and versatility especially for the price tag.
- I want something fairly easy to carry, since I tend to travel, but I am willing to sacrifice some size for function especially since I'll be depending on it a lot.
- Durability, especially since I travel.
- Good battery life
- Built-in memory card reader
- Wi-Fi, of course, but still the option for a normal cord, for when I'm in places without wireless
- Built in webcam
- Good graphics (especially for movies and I also plan on throwing in a TV tuner at some point)

What really helps me is a price you can work with, so here is some random option and if you don't like the price then you need to give me something.

My highest recommendation, good battery, good graphics card for your adobe, plenty of ram.

HP are nice and slightly cheaper than Dell but in my experience they don't last as long.

About the same as the Dell but the Dell has the better graphic card witch might be nice for Adobe.

3. Macbook 1200$
The only reason the mac would be nice is it is a unix OS, it will handle adobe along with other task better than vista (not saying vista can't do it though). Plus you might want to use Final cut express. But the other two computers along with vista will handle your needs.

Oh, sorry.

Well for my budget, I'm looking for $1000 and under. But I'm not soo worried about price as long as its worth it since I'll just get my parents to chip in (spoiled lil' brat I am).

And size, I have no idea what actually dimensions I want since I haven't had a laptop in ages. But smallish would be nice (not freakishly small that it looks like a toy), Just as long as the thing isn't too heavy, since I like to travel, and sprinting through airports is no fun with a heavy load (especially when I'm small to begin with).


The Dell sounds good. :)

The mac is mainly virus free and its made for schooling. if ur going to college, you'll get a discount and an itouch. it runs much smoother than windows even with less hardware.

Viruses are not that horrible on windows unless you are doing illegal stuff like illegal downloads. I think a mac would be best as well but a windows machine like the Dell I recommended would work very well for her needs. I think you need some better reasons then what you listed.
