Can you run an EVGA GTX 285 and an ASUS 9800GT in SLI?

Since when? I know you can sli a 9800gtx and 9800gtx+... But other than that im pretty sure they need to be the same card...(other than memory size that is, you can sli a 1gb and 512mb card, or cards with different clockspeeds, but they have to be the same line, eg- not a GTX280 and a GTX260) (Not talking about different manufacturers though, an evga gtx275 can sli with an XFX gtx275, thats always been possible)

I forget the exact forceware. It was quite some time ago. They were first able to do with a 7900GT and a 7950GT, both were G71 gpu's. It's harder to get working correctly. ATi did it right with their Catalyst drivers, and you can easily run a 4870 and a 4850 in crossfire and see impressive improvement.

Yeah, you can't run a 9600GT and a 9800GTX+ together, but you can run a GTX 285 and GTX 275 together... I don't see the point, but it's possible.

Even if so... it would default to the speed of the lower card, just like the 4870/4850 pairing, the 4870 effectively becomes a 4850.
