I know this sounds noobish, but if one of my friends is running an integrated graphics "card" if you will, would it be possilbe for him to install a new AGP card and just override or disable the integrated?

Unlikely (and ive not seen a counterexample) but integrated graphics mobos dont have AGP slots. Best you can do is a PCI card :)

PCI won't be as fast as AGP, but with most onboard GFX cards, you probably will notice a difference ;P I donno for sure, though, as my last PCI card was a Voodoo3 3000 ;P

As for AGP slots, there are a few boards that have onboard video and AGP. I think most Dell's are actually like that...

Sweet, i love the way GB (amoung others) comes up with them messed up hybrid boards :D

Mobo are very common now a' days to have both, APG 8X is extremly faster then PCI it will bottle neck most any card they make, This is why only low end cards are still made on PCI, How ever, even a PCI card should be better then a onboard card, (excluding some Nvidia and ATI onboard videos)

Actually I don't think they're too uncommon. Newegg gave 48 hits for AGP 8X and integrated graphics for Intel boards. I have an older mATX Asus board that has both.
