cannot access server or dns

this should be an easy one for someone. Unfortunatly it is not an easy one for me.
Using windows Me.
I let someone use my computer and when they were trying to access the internet using IE, the computer asked her (i think she said twice) if she wanted to allow IE to access the internet (or language similar to that). Anyway, instead of checking the allow box she checked the deny box. Now i cannot access the internet. How do i change that setting? TIA
 
You just installed firewall software, right? Duh, you don't let someone else use your computer when it isn't stabilized. Just go into that firewall software program and there should be a list of blocked programs uncheck or deselect IE.
 
i didn't just install the firewall software, it has been installed for a long time.(just about a year now). I don't know why it asked her that question. However, thanks for your help.
 
did it work? that sounds like the new McAfee junk I 'had'. It will ask you if you want to allow access, then "registry change detected", and then "are you sure?" I love ragging on McAfee, I had 3 icons in my taskbar due to McAfee's 2 minute updates.
