Cannot change HDD password in bios

I have a D620 and i am trying to set the HDD password. It has all the latest drivers and latest bios but when i input a password it just says its unacceptable..? Does anybody know a way around this?

I don't exactly get what you're saying but it sounds like it's a BIOS password. If it is then just unplug the computer, pop it open and take out the little button cell battery on the motherboard. Wait about a minute (usually not even that long, but just in case). Then put it back in, plug it back in and it should reset the bios configuration. You'll then have to set the config back to how it was.
