i am using windows xp, and there is a movie file on my hard drive which i cannot delete, or even move. i get no response when i try either of these things; nothing at all happens. when i right-click on the file, i don't get all the usual options either. all that comes up is the option to 'play' (which it doesn't), 'open with', and 'send to' (which also does nothing). what can i do to delete the file? its driving me crazy just sat there!

where is the file at? how big is it? have you tried restarting and deleting? have you gone into the task manager and tried deleting it that way?
i got rid of it! all i had to do was take everything else out of that folder, then delete the folder and the file went with it. i was obviously very tired when i when i entered this post, i dont know why i didnt just think of this solution before! thanks for your help though.
