Cannot Delete File

an officemate is having a small problem wif her pc. it is a small problem, some files cannot b deleted. whenever there's an attempt to delete the file, i get a message saying that access is denied and that there's sharing violation. i have been working on her pc for 2 days.

firstly, i went into safe mode and run spyware.. no problem there.

secondly, i tried unlocking using a freeware called Unlocker. n dis too, failed. (i tried this method as dis is an old pc. the current user of dis pc isnt the 1st user)

thirdly, i used command prompt to force delete the file. and SURPRISE!! it failed too.. ahaha..

n now i notice that the path to the file is incorrect. where the name of the folder is incorrect when comparing the location of the file to the logical address stated at My Computer.

anyone ever experienced dis?

any idea to resolve dis?

dis is my 1st week on my 1st job.

a degree with limited experience gets u nowhere :rolleyes:

lol, so degree huh,....hehe, so all else failed then, why not take the darn hard drive and put it in an enclosure and delete it from there or even put it in your pc, now that will work :cool:

dis is a researcher's pc.. it's sooooooooooooooo hard to get the nerd off her pc.. i have to look into her pc during her very brief lunch time.. so taking the hdd off is a big NO NO..

n yes, i logged on as administrator n i assume admin privilages r granted..

the whole bunch of folders r in the Shared Documents. but these folders r no longer shared. n, the address that shows at My Computer is sumthin like dis c:\Documents and Settings\Documents. instead of c:\Documents and Settings\Shared Documents. confusing, i assume dis is y i cudnt force delete it using cmd.
 
They are on the network then.

They are probably files that are on a shared folder at a home network or other and that the computer recognizes but are not available right now because she is not on her network...

It's not Dis, it's spelled "this".

I would suggest connecting her laptop to the network and deleting those files from there. Of course she will only be able to delete them if she is the host of the network...

If she can't don't worry, it doesn't sound like it's virus or spywares... Have a look through file ans search a few on google, you will know if they're good or not.
