Cannot find documents...

I recently had some virus issues with my computer. While trying to fix I actually somehow....??...got rid of Windows. I had a copy of Vista, which is the operating system I was using, and reinstalled it. Thinking that I had also lost all of my vids, music, photos, and documents. I have a 225gig hard drive that had abut 30gig free before the problem. When I got the computer back up and installed better anti virus software! computer still shows 30 gig free of the 225? Does this still mean that I have the documents? If so I cannot find them? Anyway of recovering them? Any help will be appreciated!!

They've got to be there somewhere, see if there is a directory called Windows.old and look in there or an old username.
