cannot find eachother

ok i am somehow having trouble creating a network i had one done before with my computer and my laptop i reformatted my computer and i tried to recreate a network and nothing is going right laptop is wireless to my router pc is wired to the router and somehow cannot ping eachother not to sure what to do too tired at this point and just so fed up grr what can i do?
 
Be sure they both belong to the same Workgroup, look under my computer properties under the NAME tab. Also if you are running software firewalls, be sure they are both trusting the network ips they're on and allow ping requests.
 
in network connections did you set up home network? can both deviices access the intenet?
 
actually i did figure it out turned out to be a firewall issue and i did do all you suggested but its still odd

i can ping my pc from my laptop i can acess by ip but not by network
but i cant ping my laptop from my pc what do i do lol

ok so ive figured this it it was a firewall issue so im able to ping and im able to see both in my network one in "local network" and one in "internet" my last problem is when i click on entire network and then click on my network and gives me an error sais i dont have permission to access on both laptop and pc
