Cannot get game to install

Game: Tropico 4

So, I had the game installed on the hard drive with my OS but needed to move it to save space. So, the plan was to install it onto my 1 TB hard drive.

I uninstalled it. Then, I attempted to re-install it. Unfortunately, now, the game will not play.

I talked to Kalypso about this and they had me do a few things:

First, they said that the game does not have to be on the same hard drive as the OS.

Second, they had me backup the appdata folder and mess around with the folders in there, which did nothing.

Finally, they had me send them a couple of logs with details about the game and the installation. After sending the requested info, they told me that my disc was probably corrupted and to try installing it onto a different computer. I did that, successfully, and haven't heard back from them in about a week about it. Awesome customer service. :rolleyes:

I thought maybe it's an issue with my hard drive or disc reader, so I tried installing another game: Civ V. Works perfectly.

I'm out of ideas about what could be wrong.

You either have a cd drive issue or possibly memory. Try using a different cd drive first.
 
I mentioned that I installed a different game successfully.

PC Specs:

CPU: i5-3570 @ 3.40 GHz
GPU: Radeon HD 7850 2 GB
RAM: 16 GB
OS: Windows 8
 
I would assume you have some left over files from the uninstall that is causing an issue, or a permission issue. Does it install and just not play or does it give you any error messages while installing?
 
Not sure what changed, but I got it to install just now. After like two weeks of refusing to install. smh
 
Did try to go to your registry? And clean all info there? Other thing is trying to install on different partition? Or different computer that would tell u if there is something wrong with game itself.
