Hi
When I try to open the c:drive from "my computer" by left clicking the mouse, a window opens and asks me what program I want to use tonopen the drive. Several programs such as adobe were listed in the window. I have to right click and mouse than click "open" to open the c:drive. Any ideas on what went wrong? Thank you.

You could have a glitch in Windows or something running in the background keeping the drive busy and hampering access. There are couple of things you can try for this. The first is using the msconfig utility to reduce the number of items auto loading along with Windows. You type msconfig at the Run prompt right off of the Start menu to bring that up. Look through the startup group found in the last tab on the right to uncheck any items unnecessary.

The second useful tool often requires the Windows installation disk when running the system file checker. That can often repair problem with the essentials as well as Windows Explorer itself. This is another system tool started at the Run prompt as well by typing "sfc /scannow" there. After verification of the condition of the basic system files it will often repair or replace anything found damaged or missing.
