Hi,

I was wondering if you guys could help me out here:

I'm trying to remove a program but I get this message when i click on the remove button in both CCleaner and Add and Remove Programs:

'Error Extracting Support Files:

The System Cannot Find The File Specified'

How do I remove it, I know it is there becasue I can open the program?

Danny

Try reinstalling the program, it may overwrite any corrupted files and then try to uninstall again.

The crude and manual method is to disable it from the startup group found in the msconfig utility. Once you reboot with it disabled from auto loading you have to locate all folders created for manual deletion. Then you run a registry cleaner later to remove the no longer valid entries. If the reinstall fails this would be the alternate. Don't try going into the registry and looking without experience there however. Sometimes those get buried deep. Plus you may knock out the wrong items?

When you go to uninstall it after a fresh reinstall disable it in the startup group using the msconfig utility. Once you reboot after that run the add/remove wizard to see how it goes there. The manual method for removal will require that no part of it is running at all in order for a total removal to take place. If the add/remove doesn't work(most likely will) delete the folders for it with none it's processes loaded and run RegCleaner. You try that freeware found at http://www.majorgeeks.com/RegCleaner_d460.html

It never hurts to have the RegCleaner onhand anyways since that will take care of anything left behind from that or anything else.
