Cannot update my Windows XP

I've been having a bit of a clean up regarding files, security, programs etc, and have realised that I cannot update windows xp.

Start > All Programs > Windows Update

Which takes me to the main screen, ready for updating. I then opt for the 'Express' (recommended), which then gives me the message,

Files required to use Windows Update are no longer registered or installed on your computer. To continue:


It then introduces me to a screen with two options:

1. Register or reinstall the files for me now (Recommended)

2. Let me read about more steps that might be required to solve the problem.


Either one I choose, I just end back to the initial screen - 'Express' (recommended).

What do I need to install to be able to update in the future?

Try this: Click Start, Run, Type regsvr32 MSXML3.dll click ok.
Now try and update

It is the ammount of posts you have. I dont think there are any benifits, besides respect.
