Cannot view Japanese characters

Hi guys,

I was wondering if you could help me with something...

I brought a notebook from overseas back here (Japan) and need to view some internet pages in Japanese.

I am using a Windows 2000 Professional, and when I tried to view a page, a prompt came up asking whether I wanted to install the characters, so I clicked YES, then it prompted me to insert the Windows 2000 Professional CD, but I don't have it here.

What else can I do?

I know that drivers and stuff can be downloaded from some websites on the internet, but this is a Operating System, so what can I do?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Ahmmm....

I doubt that will solve it though. I think that having a Japanese font will not mean that you can view Japanese fonts. Juts my opinion. I think you will be able to use word to write Japanese but will not be able to view Japanese on webpages. You will need to install full language support from Microsoft. Not having the CD does not helo much :).

uh...so a Japanese font wouldn't let you view Japanese fonts....

the language support is just the font :P:)

Hahaha

Ok I feel smarter now. I though that the language support is more than that. Anyway, I reallu did not think that it's only about the font. Now as far as my comment on Japanese fonts not allowing you to view Japanese fonts....well dunno why I wrote that. :)))). Thanx for clarifying that.
