I'm surprised that it "only" has 18 megapixels when the 5D MkII which isn't their flagship model had 21. I find it odd that they took a step back on their flagship model in regards to image resolution. That being said, this should be an awesome performer in low light. I'm curious what Nikon has to retaliate.
 
I saw this earlier today. You know it's not good to get as many boners as I have today all in one day, especially over a camera. LMFAO :P (JK of course)

But in all seriousness, I'm very excited to see how this beast performs. the 18MP was a great move. It's a great resolution. Not to massive, but big enough to satisfy. And 14 FPS is just pure sexy. Nice to see they improved the AF system yet again as well, not that the 1D series wasn't good enough with AF lol hell my 1D II out performs the 5D II in AF (and not just by a little either, it bends it over and makes it it's personal...well.. you get the idea :P).

I sure would love to get this, but seeing as it will more than likely be $7,000+ I don't see that happening LOL.
 
No the 5D II and 50D are completely different. The 50D can shoot 6.3FPS, the 5DII only does 3.9. Plus the MP difference, different AF system ect ect.
 
Hey! This camera was in the newspaper today, they claimed it to be the big daddy of all the other canon cameras.
It was very expensive also, like $6800 here.
 
Lol ya the old big daddy of 3 versions ago XD.

I love my 1D Mark II but I need to upgrade, it just doesn't quite cut it in the high ISO performance department that I need for shooting weddings.

thats pretty awesome that it has all those processors working together, and digic 4 just for exposure :O that more powerful than mine, and it runs everything!
18 is a great size.:)
 
Pretty much lol. This thing is probably going to be upwards of $7,000. That's what the 1Ds III was and this camera is that times like 5 lol :P
 
LOL! That's what I said about my XTi, then the 40D and now with my 1D II. I've now accepted the fact that one day I will have a camera like the 1DX at some point lol.
