Hi guys,
I’m trying to fix a friends laptop, and I’m having a little trouble accessing his personal data. I’ve got the laptop hard drive attached to my desktop via an external enclosure. There are several partitions on the drive, and I can access data from all of them apart from certain folders on the main vista partition. When I try and open the documents and settings folder, I get an ‘access denied’ msg. I’ve tried looking in the ‘users’ folder too, which shows the file structure, but the folders are all empty. I also tried running a search, including hidden files etc, to see if I could find the data I’m looking for – but with little joy
Is there any way I can get at this information?
Any advice appreciated
