Can't boot XP just Linux !

Ok I installed Fedora5 on some free unallocated space on my one harddrive, I already have windows xp installed, when installing linux I chose to install the bootloader (GRUB) NOT on the MBR but on the first part of the linux partition or something llike that.
The bootloader never worked and it just booted into windows. While in windows I used partition magic's PQ Boot program to boot to the linux partition, this worked and I was able to use linux....Problem is that the computer now always boots into linux !!! It boots straight with no boot loader or anything. I used the xp cd to run the recovery console and try a "fixboot" and "fixmbr" but no luck !!
If I could just boot to windows once and change the boot partition back using the PQ boot program.....
Any help greatly appreciated

Ok i'll reply to my own question !! I got windows booting again by using Ultimate Boot CD and running a boot manager program whereby I was able to set my windows partition as the partition to boot from, it didn't work straight away however and had to run fixboot and fixmbr from the windows recovery console on the XP CD.

Glad to hear you got it going, and thanks for posting your own answer because that can help others learn from your experience. It is frustrating when you search online for an answer to your problem and you find that someone asked the same question in some forum and then they answered themselves and simply wrote, "never mind, I got it going", and in the mean time you sit there and wonder HOW they got it going again.
