OK, so I have a hi-speed internet service from Comcast, and I connected the broadband to my LAPTOP. It worked fine. Then, when I switched it to my DESKTOP COMPUTER, the network was like ok for 20 minutes then suddenly it disconnected! I tried resetting the modem, making sure both ends of the cable were firmly connected, and even turning the modem off and back on. However, the network thingy still says "Acquiring Network Address" for like 2 hours!! I saw what the problem was: it said "Wrong IP Address", and my "IP Address" was
0.0.0.0. I clicked repair like 40 times, but nope, it still doesn't work. Tried rebooting computer, didn't work. My link button is SOLID green, but its supposed to be BLINKING green.
I called Comcast, and did everything the guy told me to do, but still doesn't work. I don't wanna pay $50 to bring a technician in my house.
Any help/suggestions?
PS. I tried doing "ipconfig", but the error says "It cannot use the RBM server" or something.
