Can't connect to wireless connections

Hi there,

1. I can't connect to wireless connection. I know the password (it's my connection from the other room), but i can't log on. It says CONNECTED but no internet access.

2. I found my friend's wireless connection, and it;s OPEN , but i can't access it eather. It says that i'm CONNECTED but nothing. Sometime it says LIMITED ACCESS. What seems to be the problem?

Please, someone.

Were you able to surf the web before or you trying to establish a new connection? Remove the security from your router and try connecting again. What wireless adapter are you using and are you using the latest driver for it?

I have the latest drivers. I can even connect to some wireless connections, i know the pass or it's open. But the other ones? I don't know what's going on.

.
Hi, how many signal bars are showing....?
2.) Try dis, remove the drivers for it, re-boot your system, turn off your firewall install drivers...how did ya go...?

Well firewall sometimes actually prevent the driver from installing properly.!

2nd) Can ya give us, Both the wireless card \ router information , type, model, wireless card chip set ect. this helps:cool:

It shows 3-4-5, (it depends) signal bars. To remove the drivers?
How's this working?

go to control panel then device manager (if you are running XP, it is control panel > system > hardware tab > device manager). Go to network adapters and your wireless card should be there. Right click it and click uninstall drivers, say yes you want to, and they are uninstalle. Reinstall them, restart.

However, I wouldn't try that yet. As was asked, what card is it you are running, and also, what operating system?
