Can't decide on mouse...

OK, so I figure I'd get a new mouse with this gift card I had because the one for my laptop's horrible. But throwing it into the wall didn't help  (it was acting up :P) Anyway, I figured I'd get one new one and use my least favorite(either the new one or my current) on my laptop at school... But I can't decide what to get!

I really do like the one I have at home now. It's a cheaper Memerex, but it's been very nice. The buttons still click great, and it has two very easy to use side buttons. Only bad part is the batteries die quite fast(every week)

I wouldn't mind getting a high quality wired mouse for my desktop, but I can't decide if I'd like a wired or wireless at school... So, what do you guys think? Preferably below $35... Much more just seems a little crazy for a mouse, espcailly considering how well this one works(it was $20 :P)

Well you already know which online vendor to go to in order to look over a ton of makes and models. http://www.newegg.com/ProductSort/SubCategory.asp?showmore=250&SubCategory=65 :)

From personal use the MS models have shown themselves to be the most durable as well as Logitech. I know deciding on a wired or wireless can be a little hard at times with a portable unit. At school you don't want cords hanging around. But cordless models have their time when the batteries crap right in the middle of something.

Take a look at the MS models newegg has in and give me your thoughts on them. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...49&Submit=ENE&Manufactory=1149&SubCategory=65

I had a microsoft mouse once, but I didn't really like it. First off it was quite heavy(wireless) 2nd the DPI was quite low. Also, the buttons wore out very fast...or at least the left click began acting up after a few months.

I thought about just getting a few of these... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16826178004
And being on my way. They seem to have great reviews(More on the blue one) and that price is just so cheap. Maybe I could get 3 of them and if one messes up, I have spares...

IMO, if your going wireless, if the batterys die fast or not, invest in some rechargable batterys. If you get them at a good place like Micro Center or Frys the abtterys will cost about 10$ for a 4 pack fo the GOOD kind, then if just using for that you can probally just get a 15$ charger, if you want a faster charge you could go for a more expensive one... It's nicer then buying new batterys all the time, and if you buy a few packs of them you can use them for other thigns too.

holyjunk125 - Haha, that first mouse reminds me of a cheap car with a horrible body kit on it :P

Arm_Pit - I already have some extreamly high capacity batteries I use.

Starwarsman - That one perks my interest... I just ordered those other mice last night, but they were very cheap(under $20 for two shipped :P) If they aren't good enough, I'll probably give that one a shot. I kind of wanted a lazer, so that'd be nice too...

Burgerbob - That's the mouse I almost got from Walmart with my card, but I just couldn't decide if that's what I really wanted or not... It looks really nice, but I really wanted some side buttons. Plus, I have very large hands, and a few people seem to complain about how small it is. I guess that's why I've liked this Memorex so much, because it's so large.

You think your hands are large? Try lifting 200-300lb steel fixtures off of a truck when unloading those years back. That only followed other bull work. And then there was Microsoft with 3.1 and finally the Trackball Explorer seen at http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-D68...Z/ref=pd_sxp_f_pt/104-4681684-7831160?ie=UTF8

I got a start when running across a link at EBay where it was listed for $149 when it only retails for $30 new! But they'll take someone in on that fast.

Hmmm

I know you want a sub-35 mouse, but ever since I got my Razer Diamondback Magma, I would never go cheap on a mouse. The difference is huge. Just try a good, expensive Logitech or Razer and you will see what I mean.

JAN :D

I got sick of the "cheapies" falling apart after a short period of time. I used to say "what is this crap!" when either a button broke or a mouse ball deteriorated too fast. That's when the optical line soon got notice. Around here you need something durable. :D
