I have been reading the overclocking tutorial and have tried to raise my multipliers in my BOIS, however i cant edit them. Is the a patch of something that can help me do this or a trick or somthing??
If your system is pre-built it is most likely locked. You can flash the BIOS but often enough pre-made systems are rendered so they cannot be over clocked, think about it. Would you make a product someone could alter in order to make better for free?
You can lower your memory to 333- Lower your HT to 4X then start raising your FSB by 5mhz at at time, if you hit a stopping point you can up your cpu voltage alittle but not much and keep a eye on your cpu temps.
most CPU's have a bit of headroom in the beginning, It would probably be safe to up the clock in one or two 15mhz increments at first, moving to 10 or 5 from there as the situation presents itself. but yes put a divider on the ram, 166, or even 133 if you find you can push the system far enough.. lower the htt multiplier whenever the ht link rises to far above 800 or 1000, whichever your board supports. Using tools such as cpuz, prime95, etc will help your oc experience.
