Cant find this Hard Drive anywhere...

I have a first generation zune that I want to upgrade the hard drive in it to an 80gig one (I cant for the life of me understand why they did not make a first gen 80 version) but it requires THIS kind of hard drive to do it. Does anyone know where to find the Toshiba MK8009GAH? I found other volumes of that drive but not the 80. Also, I noticed a few of the replies to that article from people that had done this mentioned the screen getting shorted out because the drive case has to be removed. Would putting electrical tape covering the back side of the drive be sufficient to protect it?

If this is for a Toshiba notebook you may find an adequate drive in their accessories division since most models are 80gb in size. http://www.toshibadirect.com/td/b2c/afin.to

Removing a drive's casing is always ill advised since that exposes the internal components to dust and moisture if anything gets through the internal seal making the drive useless. One reason for not being able to readily find that model drive is that it may have been pulled from the shelves by Toshiba if they were found to have an actual defect or simply now a discontinued item.

Ever try Best Buy? MY bro works there and they may be able to help ya out, possibly order it for you.

For their retail price there that is. You can easily find better deals on OEM drives online once you know a good substitute model that should go right in without problems. If one line of drives was having too many problems it was pulled from the shelves for obvious reasons by Toshiba themselves.

One idea would be to see if you could get any response from their support staff via email. They should able to point you at a model that will work the best for you there.

I dont mean to be rude and I do appreciate the help, but please read the original post and I mentioned what the drive was for.
