can't get computer started

Help. I can not get my Evesham computer started. It powers on, the lights on the tower are on, I can here the fan but I can't hear the hard drive. The screen remains blank. I don't think that it is a screen problem: if I disconnect it, I get a message saying no input.

I tried switching the computer on with the recovery disc but still no joy.

Advice would be appreciated

make sure that the power plug is all the way in the hard drive. did you mess around with this?

no. I can't here any bleeping or anything. Just the fans

so then open it up and make sure all the plugs to the HDD are in tight

for the virgins in this field,is this an easy or painful thing?

Pretty easy. Take 'em off and put 'em back on, good and tight. Check your RAM sticks too.

listen guys, I've never reallly seen the back of a computer. I presume that I need to undo some screws? Then I expect.....well not really sure at this stage but if anybody can offer advice well...

normally a couple of screws/thumb screws at the rear of your case, then the side should slide off.

Yup. Well you know what it is like. You think it will be 5 min then you realise the footy is on then a couple of calls then the next thing you know its ....well abit longer than 5 mins!!!!!
