I have Windows XP pro and wireless internet. When I try to connect to a program like AVG, Google Earth, Internet Explorer, Etc. it won't connect. I've looked in internet options under connectivity and it seems ok. I ran network diagonstics program and it says "Windows has detected a problem with the Winsock provider catolog on this computer". ????? :(
Please Help

You should be safe with Spybot, however check to make sure that those programs you want to use is being allowed access online by AVG and zonealarm. Other than that, check the winsock as suggested by Buzz1927.

Unload everything you mentioned and see if it works. ZoneAlarm is awsome, but can cause problems, particually if you don't set a few things up first.

Can you ping your router with or without the stuff running?

Try this.

Restart the network adaptor in start>rhtclk my computer>hardware>device manager. Restart the router/swith or modem. If the problem still persits contact your ISP of Microsoft.
