Hey guys i just put a new ATI radeon card into my gf's computer but it was using the onboard video before which is what vista continues to rate for her score. The old card used to be in my pc which got a score of 3.5 so i know the 1.0 is still the old onboard video score. Problem is i cannot get into the bios to disable it. I have tried all the f keys the delete key and nothing. Its a compaq pc if that helps any anything you can suggest would be greatly appreciated!

If you plugged the monitor into the video card and you can navigate windows, the video card is working...

If the on board graphics were working, you have the monitor plugged into the wrong vga/dvi port...

I know the video card is working i just need to disable the onboard becuase windows still sees it and rates it not the main new ati card.

It should say, "some button" for setup when you boot. I know that there is a jumper for disabling onboard VGA in some motherboard. And are you pressing the buttons at the right time?

codeman, did you check the links I provided?
Compaqs most often have a BIOS that is only accessible by starting up your PC with a special floppy to access a partition on your hard drive. It can't usually be accessed by pressing a key during bootup.

i havent yet as its my gf's pc and its not at my house the next time i go to her dorm i will look into thos links oven i did read into them and it sound slike they will help
